Bond is seeking a Chief People Officer (CPO) to work in the Syracuse, Albany or Buffalo office. Position Overview: Bond’s Chief People Officer will lead the Firm’s Human Resources operations and implement a people strategy that supports the Firm’s strategic goals and contributes to a positive company culture of attorneys and employees who are valued and encouraged to grow, innovate, and contribute positively to their community both in and outside of Bond. Key Responsibilities: Develop and implement HR strategies aligned with the Firm's goals and objectives. Develop the HR budget with assistance from the HR Director and in conjunction with other senior leadership. Oversee talent acquisition and retention strategies. Lead HR in regularly reviewing and refreshing core human resource functions including HR systems and process, benefits, compensation, employee performance, and employee relations. Report to the Management Committee regarding benefits/budgeting/costs and when a report is requested. Develop the skills and talents of the HR team. Directly supervise the Director of HR. Oversee administrative employee engagement initiatives to enhance job satisfaction and productivity. Provide guidance and support to managers and employees on people-related matters including but not limited to addressing workplace conflicts and maintaining an environment that is both productive and considerate of employee well-being. Ensure compliance with labor laws and regulations under the guidance of the Firm’s Office of General Counsel. Work with Office Managers, Office Managing Members and Department Heads in planning office support staff needs, as well as determining professional hiring requirements, and approve all staff hires, changes and terminations. Develop strong communication and collaboration with Firm leadership to ensure the Firm remains resilient and adaptable to meet the challenges of a changing legal market. Foster an inclusive culture and environment where diverse backgrounds, perspectives, and ways of thinking are valued and respected. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Human Resources Management or a related field required; MBA or other Master’s level degree preferred. JD a plus. Minimum 7-10 years of human resources / “people operations” experience across a range of competencies. Proven track record of developing and implementing successful HR strategies. Strong knowledge of employment laws and regulations. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to identify and find unique solutions to both simple and complex problems. Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders at all levels. Experience in the legal industry is a plus. This position's salary range is between $185,000 to $215,000 based on years’ experience.
