Job Description
D.L. George and Sons Construction is seeking Heavy Equipment Operators with a minimum of 3-5 years experience. Operators with the ability to operate a variety of equipment types - Dozers, Front End Loaders and Excavators with a fine grading skill-set is preferred.
Heavy Equipment Operator Responsibilities and Duties: The Construction Heavy Equipment Operator will operate a variety of tracked and rubber tired equipment ranging from Dozers, Front End Loaders, Excavators and Vibratory Rollers. The Construction Heavy Equipment Operator may also be asked to perform a varied semi-skilled tasks that may involve physical labor for building, highway and construction projects, excavations and demolition.
- Follow direction and instructions of job foreman
- Ability to complete required documentation when needed
- Use of construction related equipment, powered, mechanical, and manual
- Perform other related duties incidental to the work described herein
Heavy Equipment Operator Qualifications and Skills: - The Construction Heavy Equipment Operator must have good manual dexterity, hand-eye coordination and balance, and ability to operate equipment in both rough and fine grade assignments.
- They must be able to read and understand warning signs and labels on a construction site, be able to interpret plans, drawings, and written instructions and specifications.
- They should be capable of working as a member of a team and have basic problem-solving and math skills.
- They must possess the knowledge and ability to operate equipment in a safe and efficient manner.
- Operator assigned tasks may require climbing, bending, lifting, sitting, and reaching.
