Our client around the Hudson Falls, NY area is seeking an Emergency Room Clinical Pharmacy Specialist. Work a desirable 7on, 7off 2nd shift schedule. BS or PharmD with PGY2 in Emergency Medicine/Critical Care or 3 years of equivalent experience.

MUST HAVE COMPLETED A RESIDENCY.

NO NEW GRADUATES.

Must have for ER Pharmacist:

BS or PharmD in Pharmacy
3+ years of Emergency Room Pharmacy experience or PGY2 in Emergency Medicine/Critical Care
BCPS, BCCCP or BCEMP preferred

Responsibility for the Clinical ER Pharmacy Specialist:

Provide direct patient care to all adult or pediatric patients as needed in the emergency department
Respond to all emergency codes to assist with pharmacological management including optimal drug selection and preparation, dosing recommendations, and monitoring for effectiveness and adverse reactions
Provide direct clinical review and evaluation of patient specific therapy regimens in the acute care setting and coordinate necessary drug therapy adjustments for individual patients
Provide direct patient care contact for visual assessment of physical and psychological signs of drug-related effects
Provides drug and clinical information to other healthcare professionals in response to new and evolving issues related to the care of patients in the emergency department
Routinely providing medical, pharmacy and nursing staff education/training to promote clinical competency and to ensure appropriate, safe, and cost-effective medication therapy
