Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Manufacturing Engineer to join our team and play a key role in the buildout of our new +100,000 sq. ft. facility. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in high-volume manufacturing processes, with expertise in metal forming, aluminum materials, stamping, pressing, die fabrication, cleaning/degreasing operations and cellular manufacturing workflows. A working knowledge of ASME VIII, Div.1 (Pressure Vessel Code) is desired along with demonstrated proficiency in materials handling.

This hands-on role involves developing and optimizing manufacturing processes, active involvement with the specifications and purchasing of custom equipment, installation and integration of new equipment with the facility, ensuring quality assurance, and collaborating across multiple departments to execute projects successfully. We are seeking a skilled and experienced Manufacturing Engineer with expertise in folded fin press and fin fabrication processes or similar. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in manufacturing engineering, process optimization, and quality control. This role involves developing, optimizing, and overseeing fin fabrication operations to ensure high-quality, reliable, and efficient production.

This position is critical to ensuring continued success as we expand our operations and deliver innovative cryogenic equipment solutions to our global customers.

Responsibilities:

• Process Development : Design and implement efficient manufacturing processes for high-volume production, including stamping, pressing, and cleaning operations.
• Product Design and Development : Collaborate with mechanical design and operations teams to create custom fin geometries and fin press dies and holders required to consistently produce fins within tolerances and quality requirements. Stay updated with industry trends and advancements in fin fabrication and die tooling technology.
• Technical Expertise : Serve as the internal subject matter expert (SME) for fin press products and cleaning processes to ensure oil-free materials before subsequent fabrication stages. Develop and implement manufacturing processes for folded fin presses and fin fabrication. Optimize production parameters to achieve desired mechanical and structural properties of fins. Train and mentor junior engineers, technicians and fin press operators on fin fabrication techniques and best practices.
• Materials Handling and Cleaning : Develop systems for industrial materials handling and cleaning within the facility to optimize workflow efficiency and maintain parts tolerances.
• Quality Assurance : Work closely with quality control and production employees to identify non-conformities and implement corrective actions. Conduct failure analysis and troubleshoot issues related to fin fabrication processes. Maintain and calibrate folded fin press equipment and ensure compliance with safety and quality standards.
• Vendor Management : Evaluate vendors and their supplied products to ensure compliance with project specifications. Sourcing and negotiating custom manufacturing equipment.
• Documentation & Procedures : Develop work processes, procedures, quality control measures and fabrication package documentation in alignment with company requirements and quality standards.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration : Interface effectively with sales, procurement, vendors, operations, and mechanical design/drafting teams. Ability to define, organize and lead shop floor manufacturing processes.

Candidate Profile

Critical Skill Set, Education/Qualification, Certification Attainment Background:

• Bachelor of Science degree in mechanical engineering, manufacturing engineering, materials science, Industrial technology, or related field.
• 7+ years relevant experience performing similar or relatable responsibilities as those defined above.
• Experience with mechanical, metallurgical, and chemical properties and behavior of metals (with emphasis on Aluminum).
• Excellent project management skills and practices (PMP Certification a plus).
• Technical training or demonstrate experience with PLC driven machinery.
• Excellent troubleshooting and problem solving skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Must have the aptitude to be an effective presenter and instructor.
• Ability to work with all levels of people within a team environment.
• Ability to define, organize and lead shop floor manufacturing processes.
• Ability to plan tasks and adhere to documentation requirements and production schedules.
• Intermediate to Advanced skills in Microsoft Office Suite, MS Project
• Must be organized, have strong attention to detail and a drive to complete tasks on time.
• Possess a valid driver’s license.
