Click to learn about employee perks and benefits Click to see the Total Compensation Calculator This position is located at: Tobacco Farm Life Museum 709 Church Street Kenly, NC 27542 Primary Purpose of Position: This position is responsible for the development and presentation of interpretation and educational programs and events at the museum. This role manages the volunteer program and assists with admissions and group tour scheduling.
Key Responsibilities include but are not limited to: - Research and develop programming based on an interpretive plan.
- Develop curriculum related to the site and stories related to North Carolina's agricultural history.
- Develop and maintain a museum volunteer program.
- Conduct audience research to expand the museum's reach.
- Social media posting in collaboration with the History Museum Administrator and the regional Public Information Officer.

Supplemental and Contact Information Section/Unit Description: The Tobacco Farm Life Museum (TFLM) is a regional section of the North Carolina Division of State History Museums. Its mission is to collect, preserve and interpret the cultural and agricultural history North Carolina and the state for the education of present and future generations. Through exhibits and educational programming, the museum raises public awareness of the past and its influence on the present.
Division Description: The Division of State History Museums collects and preserves artifacts and other historical materials relating to the history and heritage of North Carolina in a local, regional, national, and international context to assist people in understanding how the past influences the present. The Division interprets the state's history through exhibitions, educational programs, and publications available to the visitor on-site or through distance-learning technologies. The museum division also includes six regional museums at Elizabeth City, Fayetteville, Beaufort, Cape Hatteras, Southport and Old Fort.
