Job Details

Position Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Payroll Accountant to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with Paylocity or ADP payroll platforms and will be responsible for ensuring accurate and timely processing of payroll in compliance with all applicable laws and regulations. This role plays a critical part in supporting the financial health of the organization by maintaining accurate payroll records, managing tax filings, and ensuring employee compensation is handled efficiently.

Key Responsibilities:
Process biweekly/semi-monthly/monthly payrolls accurately and on time using Paylocity or ADP.

Maintain payroll records and ensure data integrity within the payroll system.

Reconcile payroll reports and general ledger accounts.

Handle payroll tax reporting and filings, including federal, state, and local taxes.

Ensure compliance with federal and state labor laws, wage and hour laws, and internal policies.

Process new hires, terminations, and changes in compensation or deductions.

Prepare and distribute W-2s, 1099s, and other year-end reporting requirements.

Coordinate with HR and Finance on employee benefits, garnishments, bonuses, and other compensation-related items.

Support audits (internal and external) related to payroll.

Identify and implement process improvements to enhance payroll operations.

Respond to employee inquiries regarding payroll and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.

Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.

Minimum of 3 years of payroll experience; experience using Paylocity or ADP is required.

Solid understanding of payroll and accounting principles.

Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other accounting software.

Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.

Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
