We are looking for a Project Manager to come on board in our downtown Chicago office. This person is expected to travel throughout the Chicagoland area, as well as nationwide. We do work in 48 our of 50 states, the project could be based anywhere. Travel is Monday - Thursday

Job Details:
We are seeking a Project Manager who is willing to travel for our steel construction company. The ideal candidate will have just graduated from a construction/engineering program, or have a solid background in the construction industry with a proven track record of managing projects from conception through completion. This role will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of project management, including planning, coordination, execution, and delivery within budget and schedule constraints.

This is a permanent position, considering anyone with 0-2 years of experience, offering an excellent opportunity to contribute to the growth of our organization while developing your career in a fast-paced and challenging work environment.

Responsibilities:
  • Manage projects from initial planning stages to completion, ensuring they are completed on time and within budget.
  • Coordinate with clients, subcontractors, and team members to ensure all project requirements are met.
  • Oversee and direct construction projects from conception to completion.
  • Review the project in-depth to schedule deliverables and estimate costs.
  • Oversee all onsite and offsite constructions to monitor compliance with building and safety regulations.
  • Coordinate and direct construction workers and subcontractors.
  • Select tools, materials, and equipment and track inventory.
  • Meet contractual conditions of performance.
  • Review the work progress on a daily basis.
  • Prepare internal and external reports pertaining to job status.
  • Plan ahead to prevent problems and resolve any emerging ones.
  • Negotiate terms of agreements, draft contracts, and obtain permits and licenses.
  • Analyze, manage, and mitigate risks.
  • Ensure quality construction standards and the use of proper construction techniques.
Qualifications:
  • A minimum of a college degree in construction/civil engineering OR 1-2 years of experience in the construction industry.
  • Willing to travel is a must
  • Proven ability to manage all aspects of construction projects effectively and efficiently.
  • Strong knowledge of construction materials, processes, and equipment.
  • Exceptional leadership, organizational, and time-management skills.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of staff, from entry-level to executive management.
  • Knowledge of building codes, standards of practice, and safety regulations.
  • Strong negotiation skills and the ability to manage project costs effectively.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite and project management software.
  • Ability to read and understand blueprints, schematics, and construction documents.
  • Exceptional customer service skills and the ability to build and maintain strong relationships with clients and subcontractors.
