We are looking to immediately hire Railroad Conductors for our Chesterville, VA, site.

Must be OSHA 10 certified (we do cover the course)

• The Railroad Conductor is responsible for the safe coordination and movement of railcars within shortline rail operations. This includes switching, spotting, assembling, and disassembling trains according to schedules and instructions from yardmasters or dispatchers.
• Conductors communicate clearly with engineers and crew using radios and hand signals to ensure proper execution of movements. They are responsible for coupling and uncoupling cars, operating switches, setting hand brakes, and verifying car placements. Safety is a critical part of the role, including performing visual inspections, securing loads, and following all FRA and company safety protocols.
• This position requires working outdoors in all weather conditions, climbing railcars, lifting equipment, and maintaining high situational awareness in active rail environments. Conductor must be able to interpret and apply railroad rules, maintain logs or documentation, and work both independently and as part of a crew.
