Position Summary The primary function of the Sr. Principal, Consultant Strategy is to lead and own firm-specific strategies for our top consultant firms aligned to our business needs. The management functions include the development and execution of strategies and tactics in the following areas: Strategic Planning for key firms, Business Development, Presentation Development and Delivery, Negotiation of key initiatives, coordination with Sales and Account Management leaders, as well as other internal stakeholders impacting content and communications to consultant practices. Essential Functions Develops new and ongoing relationships with prioritized consultants. Develops and executes strategic growth plan associated with top consultant firms and tactics outlined in firm-specific strategic plans. Manages ongoing relationships with the most influential consultants and provides navigation and advocacy support to make working with Evernorth and ESI easier, including developing and communicating presentations, updates, and insights to key producers on ESI capabilities. Works with sales and account teams in building and executing sales and retention strategies across key consultant firms. Works in collaboration with internal stakeholders to ensure consistent and ongoing consultant insights, strategies, and efforts (Account Management, sales marketing, product, competitive intelligence, legal, pricing, etc.), including high-level, strategic support for issue resolution. Works on special projects and task forces as assigned. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience; PBM experience required. Experience in pricing/underwriting or supply chain functions highly preferred. Ability to use proper judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Knowledge of the employee benefits marketplace including the influence of benefits consultants. Strong financial skills including understanding of PBM pricing and contracting to support sales growth. Ability to create and execute annual strategic plans for each firm based on key metrics and market dynamics. Strategic approach to consultant relationship management; applies best practices across consultant relationships. Highly effective cross-functional collaboration to drive process improvements & client satisfaction. Exceptional verbal and written communication and presentation skills required. Leadership skills, team-orientation, a proactive management style, and strong commitment to strategic relationship management and sales support and growth. Excellent organizational/prioritization skills. Ability to travel as needed.
