Position : Senior Electrical Sales Engineer

What You'll Do:

\n
    \n
  • Calls on decision makers in the marketplace who are in a position to specify or purchase OTC products and services
  • \n
  • Work in collaboration with rotating equipment engineers and maintenance professionals to solve problems
  • \n
  • Conducts product presentations and demonstrations to enhance the knowledge and product awareness of current and potential customers
  • \n
  • Establishes rapport and engages in joint sales calls with manufacturers OTC represents in the marketplace
  • \n
  • Attends and participates in sales and other company meetings as required
  • \n
  • Maintains high knowledge level of products, processes, and the latest industry trends
  • \n
  • Entertains customers and/or vendors including after hours to strengthen relationships.
  • \n
  • Provides start-up service and support when required
  • \n
  • Perform failure analysis of electrical and/or mechanical equipment and report findings
  • \n
  • Manage equipment performance improvement programs, report actions and results in quarterly meetings
  • \n
  • 75% to 100% making sales calls in territory developing new buying accounts and building / maintaining relationship with new and existing customers.

What You'll Need:

  • Bachelors of Science degree preferred, Electrical or Electronics Engineering degree a plus and/or rotating equipment experience 2 - 5 years
  • \n
  • Proficient in using Word, Excel, Power Point and Outlook, and CRM software (Selltis a plus)
  • \n
  • Valid drivers' license with clean driving record
  • \n
  • Ability to sell pump equipment, understanding of the mechanics and applications of an industrial pump and pumping systems, self-starter.
  • \n
  • Proactive prospecting with a dedication to fieldwork.
  • \n
  • Professional service sales background with a demonstrated record of success
  • \n
  • Strategic thinker with a vision for territorial growth.
  • \n
  • Skilled in presentations and communication across platforms.
  • \n
  • Strong communication skills (verbal and written)
  • \n
  • Problem-solving and analytical abilities with the capability to analyze client challenges and provide innovative technical solutions.

  • Achieve sales and margin levels that meet or exceed annual goals for all OTC Pumps electrical offerings.
  • \n
  • Strong interpersonal skills to develop and maintain long-term relationships with clients, vendors and team members
  • \n
  • Coordinate with Regional resources to design and offer customer-centric system solutions across multiple product categories.
  • \n
  • Maintain disciplined daily/weekly activity goals per the defined OTC standard of consistency and conduct of a Sales Engineer.
  • \n
  • Budget and maintain market share targets in conjunction with regional objectives.
  • \n
  • Target competitive accounts to grow customer base and penetrate territory.
  • \n
  • Master technical sales and territory management skills; product knowledge, system design, and a superior understanding and execution of proper prospecting and sales processes.
  • \n
  • Influential customer service skills and accomplished at building relationships

  • Ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage time efficiently

  • Ability to interpret industry standards and engineering specifications (API and ASME)

  • Strong understanding of electrical systems, products, and solutions such as power systems, VFD, automation and controls systems
  • \n
  • Prior plant experience preferred

PHYSICAL DEMANDS/ WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • Must be able to work in an office and industrial setting as required by the customer
  • \n
  • Must be able to travel via plane as needed; and drive a vehicle for up to 2-3 hours at a time and up to 6 hours per day.
  • \n
  • Must be able to communicate via telephone and electronic devices in the workplace.
  • \n
  • Ability to walk for long stretches, climb stairs regularly, and climb ladders occasionally while at industrial customer sites.
  • \n
  • Work in various climates. Some climates are high temperature (ambient temps and sometimes greater when in hot process environment). Will also spend time outdoors in direct sunlight and extreme high or low temperatures depending on the season.
  • \n
  • Wear proper PPE which includes hard hat, safety glasses, and proper attire, which could include long sleeves even when temperatures are high.
  • \n
