Senior Structural Forensic Engineer - Investigative Services

Location: Franklin, TN

About the Opportunity:
Our client, a respected and expanding multidisciplinary consulting firm, is seeking a Senior Structural Forensic Engineer to join their Investigative Services division in Franklin, Tennessee. This is a pivotal role for an experienced professional who thrives on solving complex structural challenges and delivering expert-level insights.

As a third-party recruitment partner, we're looking for candidates who bring both technical depth and strong communication skills, professionals who can lead investigations, mentor junior staff, and represent the firm in high-stakes environments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead forensic investigations into structural failures, construction defects, and damage assessments across a variety of property types.
  • Conduct detailed site inspections and structural evaluations, often in post-event or distressed conditions.
  • Analyze root causes of failures due to design flaws, material degradation, natural disasters, or workmanship issues.
  • Prepare comprehensive technical reports and expert witness documentation.
  • Provide litigation support, including depositions and courtroom testimony when required.
  • Mentor junior engineers and contribute to internal knowledge sharing and process improvement.

Ideal Candidate Profile:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
  • Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) in Tennessee or eligible for reciprocity.
  • 8+ years of structural engineering experience, with at least 3 years in forensic investigations.
  • Strong command of structural analysis tools and investigative methodologies.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, especially in technical reporting and client interactions.
  • Experience with expert witness testimony is a strong plus.
  • Willingness to travel regionally for site inspections and client meetings.

Work Environment:

Compensation & Benefits:

  • Salary Range: $115,000 - $145,000 annually, commensurate with experience.
