Senior Tax Consultant We are currently seeking candidates for a Senior Tax Consultant opportunity with a highly elite Alternative Investment firm located in Boston, MA. The Senior Tax Consultant will be responsible for calculating and allocating taxable income across fund structures, management company, and GP entities, coordinating with internal and external parties, and optimizing workflows as appropriate. The ideal candidate will have 5-10+ years of related tax or audit experience with alternative investments. The Senior Tax Consultant will be responsible for calculating and allocating taxable income across fund structures, management company, and GP entities, coordinating with internal and external parties, and optimizing workflows as appropriate. The ideal candidate will have 5-10+ years of related tax or audit experience with alternative investments. This is a 7-month contract opportunity, paying between $70-$100/hour (depending on experience). Responsibilities: Calculate and allocate taxable income across fund structures, Management Company, and GP entities, ensuring accurate tax data disclosure and clear K-1 presentation. Assist with the timely filing of federal, state, and international tax returns, coordinating with internal teams for paper tax return mailings and check preparation. Prepare journal entries for entity-level taxes, including state, nonresident withholding, and non-U.S. withholding taxes. Manage tax compliance workflows with external advisors and fund administrators to ensure timely delivery of tax information to investors, employees, and authorities. Document and respond to federal and state tax notices promptly. Support responses to investor and tax authority inquiries and prepare monthly tax efficiency and unrealized gain/loss reports. Oversee tax distribution payments for general partner partners and prepare quarterly estimated tax information for internal and external stakeholders. Build and maintain relationships with external tax advisors, fund administrators, and portfolio investment teams. Collaborate with fund accounting and operations teams to align accounting and tax records consistently. Contribute to tax research, structuring, and consulting projects, maintaining documentation and drafting related memorandums. Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance (Required). CPA a plus. 5-10+ years of tax and/or audit experience within the alternative investment industry. Excellent communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills. High attention to detail and prioritize competing tasks and deadlines. Strong organization, analytical, and problem-solving skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Microsoft Excel.
