Riot Hospitality Group is currently looking for an entry level Staff Accountant to join our Finance & Accounting team! This position will support the company's daily accounting operations across all locations in Arizona, Colorado and Tennessse. We're searching for a candidate who can: - Perform a variety of general accounting functions including journal entries, period-end closing procedures and balance sheet reconciliations.
- Review, audit and integrate daily sales into ERP.
- Post cash activity and complete weekly bank reconciliations; research and resolve variances.
- Complete weekly credit card reconciliations, including appropriate coding of transactions and ensuring submission of all back-up documentation/receipts.
- Complete weekly tip payment reconciliations; research and resolve variances.
- Support the Accounts Payable function as a backup.
- Collaborate with store-operations and corporate teams where required and appropriate.
- Provide supporting schedules during financial and tax reviews.
- Various accounting projects as needed.
- Support the review of current financial systems, processes and procedures to identify improvement opportunities with a focus on simplification, standardization and optimization.
- Support the implementation of ad-hoc and ongoing process improvement initiatives.
Requirements - BS/BA in Accounting or Finance required.
- Minimum 2+ years of working experience in accounting roles required, with experience in restaurant and/or retail multi-unit accounting teams preferred.
- Strong financial acumen; solid understanding of GAAP accounting principles.
- Knowledge of financial systems and intermediate Excel experience required. Sage Intacct experience a plus.
- Ability to thrive in a fast paced, growing, dynamic environment.
- High level of accountability; ability to manage multiple assignments and deadlines with strong attention to detail.
- Proactive, motivated self-starter, with excellent organizational and continuous improvement skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
