Equipment Sales Representative

Sanco Equipment – Mason City/Clear Lake, Iowa

What started as a single Bobcat dealership in southern Minnesota has over the years expanded to include four locations in MN and IA. Through our company’s continued growth and desire to better serve our customers, we are currently seeking a n Equipment Sales Representati ve to join our team in Mason City, IA.

The Equipment Sales Representative generates new business, ensures growth of existing accounts, and assesses the potential application of Company products and/or services to offer solutions that meet customer needs.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Identifies prospective customers by cold calling, using business directories, following up on leads, participating in organizations and clubs, and attending trade shows and conferences
  • Initiates sales campaign and establishes marketing guidelines to meet sales expectations
  • Answers customers’ questions about product features, prices, availability, capabilities and limitations, and credit terms
  • Maintains customer records
  • Documents calls in a weekly call report
  • Documents expenses in a weekly expense report
  • Prepares sales contracts for orders obtained and submits orders for processing
  • Informs customers of estimated delivery schedules, service contracts, warranties, or other information pertaining to purchased products
  • Coordinates transportation of equipment to customer locations
  • Visits customer sites to evaluate needs and to promote products

Experience:

  • High school diploma or general education diploma
  • (GED)Five to 10 years of proven outside sales experience in compact or agricultural equipment or similar industry
  • Cold calling experience

Skills:

  • Written and verbal communication skills
  • Microsoft Office skills
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Excellent customer follow-up and responsiveness skills, people-oriented

Abilities:

  • Sales driven, aggressive, and self-motivated
  • Communicate information and ideas while speaking and presenting
  • Load and chain down equipment
  • Frequently operate skid steers, excavators, lawn mowers, and trucks and trailers

Working Conditions:

  • This job operates in a professional office environment and out in the field
  • This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.
  • 60-75% local travel
