SLSCO is seeking applicants for a paid internship to support its Health and Response Proposal Team for three days each week from June 2, 2025, through July 18, 2025. The function of the Proposal Team is to identify and respond to bid opportunities (proposals) from federal, state, local, and quasi-governmental entities. Common scope areas for bid include but are not limited to temporary housing construction and/or installation, emergency transportation services, emergency response support services, and temporary healthcare staffing.

The intern will work alongside the Proposal Team to accomplish all aspects of the proposal process, including written content development, visual content development, presentation development, project management, knowledge library management, and reporting.

Responsibilities

• Assist with drafting written and visual content for proposal responses.
• Assist with project management for proposals and other business development activities.
• Assist with maintaining the organization of the proposal team’s knowledge database. This includes updating documentation, categorizing documents with a key word index, and organizing knowledge resources into a searchable filing system.
• Assist with creating, updating, and maintaining an archive of current proposal artifacts.
• Provide as needed administrative and reporting support to the Proposal Team.

• Educational background in English, journalism, information science, political science, project management, or similar (preferred)

Physical Demands

• Use of manual dexterity, tactile, visual, and audio acuity.
• Use of repetitive motion, prolonged periods of sitting and standing, and sustained visual and mental applications and demands.
• Occasional lifting (up to 15 pounds), bending, pulling, and carrying.
